Partnering with Anthropologie

In addition to the variety of trees that help give rainforests their footprint, bamboo groves create entire worlds within a rainforest’s ecosystem, lining the banks of the Amazon River and serving as the main food source for China’s giant pandas and African mountain gorillas alike.

Bamboo, Flexible and Efficient

Some species of bamboo can grow up to a meter in a single day. Many societies use bamboo regularly as an alternative to wood and timber, building traditional houses, as well as using it for flooring and many furniture items. Bamboo is also used for cooking – food is stuffed in the bamboo tube and cooked on the open fire – and for collecting water from natural springs for household consumption. Some species of bamboo can also be eaten by humans.

Partnering for Rainforests

Starting this Earth Month, we’re partnering with Anthropologie to bring the beauty and benefits of rainforests, and TNC’s work to protect them, to new audiences. To celebrate the beauty of our rainforests, customers will experience window displays made of bamboo in 200+ stores in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and will have the option to make an in-store donation to TNC at checkout.

A History of Support

In 2022, Anthropologie partnered with TNC around an Earth Day campaign to protect pollinators and share the importance of pollinator species with consumers. Anthropologie and Terrain customers were encouraged to donate to TNC via a unique QR code. And in celebration of the partnership, Anthropologie employees made sunflower window displays with seed paper, visible at 220+ stores.
