The Nature Conservancy Mobile Terms and Conditions

Last updated August 21, 2024

  1. These Messaging Terms and Conditions (“Messaging Terms”) provide the general terms and conditions that govern your access to, use of, and interactions with the text messaging platform used by The Nature Conservancy to deliver text messages to you. The text messaging platform and all text messages from The Nature Conservancy are collectively called the “TNC Messaging Services.”
  2. Message frequency will vary for the TNC Messaging Services. The Nature Conservancy reserves the right to alter the frequency of messages sent at any time, so as to increase or decrease the total number of sent messages. On average, as of the last updated date of these Messaging Terms, we send four messages per month. The messages The Nature Conservancy sends may include, but are not limited to, information about TNC’s conservation work, messages about The Nature Conservancy’s membership program including fundraising requests, and opportunities to engage in surveys and petitions.
  3. By subscribing to the TNC Messaging Services, you consent to receive automated informational, promotional, and marketing text messages from The Nature Conservancy. Consent to receive automated marketing text messages is not a condition of receiving any goods or services.
  4. The Nature Conservancy does not charge you a fee to receive text messages. However, message and data rates may apply—this can be checked with your mobile service provider. Charges are billed and payable to your mobile service provider or deducted from your prepaid account.
  5. To stop receiving messages, text STOP to 97779 or contact us at (800) 628-6860 or member@tnc.org.
  6. If you are experiencing issues with the TNC Messaging Services or have any questions, text HELP to 97779, or contact us at (800) 628-6860 or member@tnc.org.
  7. Data obtained from you in connection with the TNC Messaging Services may include your mobile phone number, your carrier’s name and the date, time and content of your messages. The Nature Conservancy may use this information to contact you and provide the services you request from The Nature Conservancy. Alerts sent via SMS may not be delivered if the mobile phone is not in range of a transmission site, or if sufficient network capacity is not available at a particular time. Even within a coverage area, factors beyond the control of the wireless operator may interfere with message delivery, including the customer’s equipment, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage, and weather. Wireless operators do not guarantee message delivery and will not be held liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  8. For information on data collection and The Nature Conservancy, please read The Nature Conservancy’s Privacy Policy.
  9. The Nature Conservancy will not be liable for any delays in the receipt of any SMS message as delivery is subject to effective transmission from your network operator. You are solely responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to the TNC Messaging Services, including, without limitation, securing connections, and for any telecommunication fees.
  10. The Nature Conservancy uses https://uplandsoftware.com/mobile-commons/ for the TNC Messaging Services.
  11. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction of residence, to subscribe to TNC Messaging Services.
