Two Paths Diverge in Our Woods
If we stay on the ‘business as usual’ path, we will face major biodiversity loss, catastrophic climate change, and a growing number of environmental challenges that make life harder for people, such as water and food scarcity and air pollution. We risk becoming trapped in a cycle where we over-exploit and degrade nature, harming our health, our livelihoods and our quality of life. Business as usual is a dire path, but it’s not the only path. Science shows us there is another path—a sustainable path.
The Sustainable Path
We can create a new vision for New Hampshire and for the planet—one where people recognize the role nature plays in improving their lives and are inclined to take better care of it. The problems our world faces are solvable. If we can make significant changes in the ways we manage our resources, we can create a world where both people and nature thrive.
It is an ambitious vision. Can we have a future where people get the food, energy and economic growth they need without sacrificing nature?
We believe the answer is a resounding YES. That's why we have embarked on one of the most ambitious conservation funding efforts in the history of the Granite State. Our Future of Nature Campaign will raise and invest $40 million to put New Hampshire on the sustainable path for our climate, water and people. It's an ambitious goal, and you can help make a difference for New Hampshire's climate, water and people.
