Before moving to Tennessee, Terry worked in various capacities—over several decades—as director of science in Texas and Washington, director of the Mid-Atlantic Science Center, an eastern regional scientist and as the state director in Kentucky. Terry has been a John Sawhill Fellow, a TNC's Global Science Leadership Team member and served on its Africa Council.
